At Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., we understand how hard it is to lose someone you love. Our mission is simple: treat each grieving family member with the same empathy, respect, and care that we would show one of our own.

We are proud to offer a full complement of funeral, burial and cremation services to the residents of Wilmington and beyond. As end of life matters are often intensely personal, we also offer the opportunity to meet with one of our licensed funeral directors to pre-arrange the details of one’s own funeral.

The funeral home operates from the  Nichols Homestead, a building that dates back to the 1760’s. Over the years, the facility has been renovated to meet modern needs while maintaining its historic charm and beauty.

Nichols Funeral Home was established in 1861 by the Nichols family and has been operating continuously at 187 Middlesex Avenue in Wilmington, Massachusetts ever since. In the 1950’s, the business and building were purchased directly from the Nichols family by Bud & Edie Lyford. After a successful  50 year run, Mr. & Mrs. Lyford retired from the funeral business in 2005 and passed the reins to the owners of Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., who are proud to continue the tradition started by the Nichols family almost 150 years ago.
